In the peaceful landscapes of the Usambara Mountains, Magamba Eco-Cultural Tourism offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience nature, culture, and authentic village life. Located close to the beautiful Magamba Nature Forest Reserve, our traditional homestay and camping experience allows travelers to reconnect with nature far from the busy atmosphere of town life.
We currently offer three traditional village rooms for guests who wish to enjoy a quiet and authentic stay surrounded by local farms, fresh mountain air, and the natural beauty of the Usambara Mountains. For adventure and nature lovers, we provide a camping site where visitors can experience the sounds of nature, observe endemic birds, monkeys, reptiles, butterflies, and enjoy the evergreen environment directly from our property.
The Usambara Mountains are part of the famous Eastern Arc Mountains, internationally recognized for their exceptional biodiversity and unique ecosystems. The forests around Magamba are home to endemic bird species such as the Usambara eagle owl, Usambara weaver, and Usambara akalat, making the area one of the most important eco-tourism and birdwatching destinations in Tanzania.
To give visitors the best eco-friendly and cultural accommodation experiences, Magamba Eco-Cultural Tourism carefully works with a few trusted accommodations that share the same values of sustainability, local culture, nature conservation, and authentic hospitality in the Usambara Mountains.
Among our trusted partners are:
Kaya Wald Stay — an eco-accommodation focused on nature, comfort, and sustainable tourism.
Maki's Homestay — offering warm local hospitality and a peaceful village atmosphere.
Magumba View Cottages — traditional-style cottages inspired by Sambaa culture with beautiful mountain views.
At Magamba Eco-Cultural Tourism, we believe accommodation should be more than just a place to sleep. It should connect visitors with the real African lifestyle, local traditions, natural beauty, and meaningful cultural experiences while supporting sustainable tourism in the Usambara Mountains.
